Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience in Application Services or a related Information Technology field.
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience developing and maintaining Microsoft SharePoint Online sites, including lists, libraries, and related components to support enterprise-level operations.
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience developing Microsoft Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate, Dataverse and Microsoft 365 services.
  • Requires two (2) year of professional experience managing Power Platform environments, applying Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) principles, and solution deployment processes.
  • Requires the ability to verify identity.
  • Requires employment authorization to accept permanent full-time position with the State of Illinois.
  • Requires the ability to pass a position specific, agency required background check.
  • Requires self-disclosure of criminal history.
  • Requires the ability to use agency supplied equipment such as laptop, personal computer, cell phone and any other required equipment or devices.
  • Requires the ability to attend seminars, conferences, and training to remain current on methods, tools, ideologies or other industry related topics relevant to job duties.
  • Requires the ability to lift and carry objects or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds. This is considered light work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(b)). Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license and the ability to travel in performance of duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) years of professional experience developing and maintaining Microsoft SharePoint Online sites, including lists, libraries, and related components to support enterprise-level operations.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience developing Microsoft Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate, Dataverse and Microsoft 365 services.
  • Two (2) year of professional experience managing Power Platform environments, applying Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) principles, and solution deployment processes.
  • One (1) year of professional experience using Azure DevOps or similar tools for version control and deployment.
  • Ability to analyze data logically, exercise sound judgment, and apply advanced problem-solving techniques to define and resolve operational and procedural challenges.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, clients, and stakeholders to achieve collaborative outcomes.
  • Ability to coordinate and direct the activities of technical teams to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences, including management and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Under administrative direction, serves as a/the Senior SharePoint Developer for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting the Department of Human Services(IDHS) performing complex professional and advisory functions in Application Services.
  • Reviews and analyzes functional system requirements and compares end user needs and requests for Sharepoint Online and the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SharePoint and Power Platform to ensure an advanced level of support to all IDHS staff, major focus on the IDHS Websites.
  • Evaluates technical advancement in the SharePoint Online and Power Platform to enhance agency systems and operations.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the SharePoint/Microsoft Power Platform field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
