The Senior Servicing Audit Analyst supports the mortgage servicing business line by coordinating all activities related to internal audits, external audits, regulatory examinations, investor reviews, and other control-based reviews. This role is responsible for managing and fulfilling audit documentation and artifact requests, facilitating communication between examiners and servicing business line management, and ensuring all responses are submitted accurately, completely, and on time in accordance with examiner instructions. This position also coordinates servicing leadership responses to audit findings, including rebuttal packages and management action plans, and tracks the timely completion of remediation activities through closure. The role requires strong mortgage servicing operational knowledge, disciplined execution, excellent organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a highly regulated environment.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, risk management, or related field, or equivalent experience, required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in mortgage servicing, audit support, risk, compliance, quality control, operational governance, or examination management, required.
  • Experience supporting or coordinating internal/external audits, regulatory examinations, investor reviews, or compliance testing.
  • Working knowledge of mortgage servicing operations (e.g., payment processing, escrow, customer service, default, loss mitigation, bankruptcy, foreclosure, claims, or servicing transfers).
  • Familiarity with mortgage servicing regulatory, investor, and agency requirements within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Knowledge of audit methodology, control frameworks, issue management, corrective action planning, remediation tracking, and closure processes.
  • Experience with governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) systems or audit management platforms.
  • Strong project coordination and document management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with leadership, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SharePoint or similar tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and quality control.
  • Ability to interpret reviewer requests and translate them into actionable requirements.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, critical thinking, and sound judgment, including handling sensitive or confidential information.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Exercise good judgment and strong character, motivated, hard working.
  • Ability to work well with fellow associates, clients and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the central coordination point for audit, examination, and review activities within the mortgage servicing business line.
  • Receive, interpret, log, assign, and track all requests from internal audit, external auditors, regulators, compliance, investors, and other reviewers.
  • Partner with servicing leaders and subject matter experts to gather required documentation, data, policies, procedures, and evidence of control execution.
  • Review all submissions for completeness, accuracy, responsiveness, proper labeling, and alignment with request requirements prior to delivery.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and properly formatted responses; manage follow-ups, clarifications, and re-requests as needed.
  • Create and maintain centralized trackers and a complete audit trail of requests, communications, submissions, and supporting documentation.
  • Act as liaison between reviewers and business line management, coordinating meetings, walkthroughs, and ongoing communications.
  • Communicate expectations, monitor progress, identify risks to delivery or quality, and escalate issues or delays as appropriate.
  • Coordinate development of audit finding rebuttals and management responses, ensuring they are well-supported, clearly documented, and approved.
  • Partner with business, risk, compliance, legal, and other stakeholders to ensure responses address root cause, impact, and corrective actions.
  • Oversee end-to-end tracking of audit and exam remediation efforts, including action plans, milestones, dependencies, and supporting evidence.
  • Monitor remediation progress, escalate risks or overdue items, and maintain accurate records of findings, status, and closure documentation.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reporting on request status, findings, rebuttals, remediation progress, and aging items for leadership.
  • Support audit readiness by maintaining document inventories, standard artifacts, and evidence repositories.
  • Develop and enhance templates, trackers, and procedures; identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and overall exam management effectiveness.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, strong controls, and sustained audit readiness.
  • Other duties as assigned.
