About The Position

The Senior Service Technician will be working onsite at a client’s IT center, in Omaha, Nebraska. Sterling has continually done business year over year and holds a presence onsite working directly with clients. Sterling provides break-fix services for about 19,000 units. The onsite technician will diagnosis, order parts via Sterling’s partners/vendors, complete repairs and return units to the onsite clients.This is a solo position. You will be communicating between Sterling’s internal teams as well as client admins, directors and their own IT staff. The Senior Service Technician must be able to manage their own time. The Senior Service Technician will be accountable for planning daily workflow. Anticipating the needs of the client and various projects is crucial for maintaining a great working relationship between Sterling and the end users.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of depot and download experience
  • A+ certification or technical certification preferred
  • Associate degree or minimum of three years computer repair experience required
  • A good knowledge of different computer components to assemble and disassemble a wide variety of computers a must - Dell preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose malfunctions of computer hardware for the purpose of determining the appropriate parts needed to complete repairs
  • Orders necessary parts via multiple vendor websites, adhering to the policies and procedures specific to each one.
  • Knowledge of various tools and techniques involved in computer repair
  • Ability to disassemble and assemble a wide variety of computers for repair purposes
  • Maintain accurate repair records using ticketing systems
  • Manage inventory in terms of shipping, receiving, organizing and storage of goods in a client provided warehouse
  • Ability to work with limited supervision daily
  • Ability to perform inventory counts and audits as needed
  • Manage and report on PM assisted projects
  • Ability to perform data collection and recording
