About The Position

The Senior Service Associate role involves providing package handling, inventory control, and shipping services to customers across various industries such as retail, technology, and aerospace. The position focuses on delivering speed, consistency, flexibility, and visibility to clients through a customer-first approach, aiming to enhance client efficiency so they can concentrate on their core competencies. This is a hands-on role within UPS's core business operations, requiring adherence to established processes and procedures for efficient and safe work execution. It involves manual tasks that demand proficiency gained through job-related training and significant on-the-job experience. The associate will perform a range of tasks, making minor modifications within guidelines, and will operate with limited supervision while also providing guidance to less experienced team members. The role also includes managing the delivery of contracted services to meet or exceed SLAs and KPIs, supporting business products through collaboration with vendors, customers, and internal groups, and overseeing daily facility activities related to compliance, receipts, kitting, order processing, inventory, staffing, inspections, employee engagement, safety, security, and profitability. Additionally, the associate will perform financial activities like forecasting and creating business plans, maintain customer relationships, and identify opportunities for operational improvements. Support for field stocking locations and agent networks may also be required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide package handling, inventory control, and shipping services to customers in a variety of industries.
  • Help clients become more efficient, allowing them to focus on their core competencies.
  • Utilize various pieces of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including pallet movers, stand up forklifts, high lift reach trucks, and order pickers up to heights of 28 feet.
  • Utilize radio frequency (RF) scanners to electronically perform warehouse activities.
  • Perform all tasks using defined job processes with a high level of accuracy with minimal supervision.
  • Utilize computer-based warehouse management system (WMS) to perform all warehouse activities including outbound process, inbound process and inventory control.
  • Ensure transaction accuracy along with safety and quality compliance.
  • Deliver hands-on work, typically related to the core UPS business operations.
  • Follow established processes and procedures to execute work efficiently and safely.
  • Perform manual work that requires proficiency through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.
  • Perform a range of tasks and makes minor modifications to work routines within established procedures and guidelines.
  • Complete work with a limited degree of supervision and provide guidance to others with less experience.
  • Manage the delivery or deployment of contracted services to customers to ensure that SLAs (service level agreements) and KPI (key performance indicators) as defined in the relevant contracts are met or exceeded.
  • Support business products by collaborating with vendors, customers, and other internal support groups.
  • Responsible for daily facility activities related to government compliance, inbound receipts, kitting, processing orders, procuring suppliers, managing inventory, staffing, facility inspections, employee engagement, development, safety, security, profitability, etc.
  • Perform a variety of financial activities including forecasting, allocations, adjustments and creating annual business plans to meet business unit and corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for retaining and strengthening customer relationships which may include face to face customer service.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness, and capabilities of the operation.
  • May provide support to field stocking locations (FSL), agent locations across multiple geographies, and support the provider network.
