Requirements

  • Degree in Advertising, Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, or related field or equivalent practical experience in SEO and digital marketing.
  • 5+ years of experience in SEO, with a proven track record of successfully increasing organic traffic and search rankings for a variety of websites.
  • Strong understanding of technical SEO aspects, including site architecture, schema markup, and performance optimization.
  • Proficient in using SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Looker Studio, GTmetrix, or similar tools) to analyze performance data and inform strategy.
  • Proficiency in using WordPress, WP Engine, or similar website management platforms for content creation, optimization, redirects and overall site management.
  • Strong interest in applying AI and machine learning solutions to elevate SEO strategies and improve workflow efficiency. Experience in developing such solutions is a bonus.
  • Experience in leading multiple, innovative, and complex SEO strategies, with the ability to adapt to evolving market conditions and client needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills paired with strong initiative for identifying errors or challenges and providing effective solutions. Must be comfortable communicating internally through in-person meetings, phone calls, and email, as well as engaging with clients via meetings and email correspondence.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve common goals.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with local search best practices.
  • Writing content that engages and converts.
  • Experience with project management software such as Jira, or Asana.
  • Familiarity with web development concepts including HTML, JSON or CSS will be considered an asset.
  • Relevant certifications for SEO tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Execute SEO Strategies: Create and implement comprehensive SEO strategies to improve organic search visibility and drive targeted traffic for a variety of websites across search engines including but not limited to Google, YouTube, Bing, and others.
  • Keyword Research and Content Strategy: Identify high-converting keyword opportunities and develop content strategies that align with client objectives and industry trends.
  • Performance Analysis and Reporting: Demonstrate a strong understanding of marketing metrics and KPIs. Analyze SEO performance data to create actionable insights, prepare comprehensive reports, and effectively communicate to internal teams, management, and clients.
  • Technical SEO Management: Conduct technical audits to identify and resolve issues affecting site performance and usability. Collaborating closely with engineering and development teams to ensure improvements support SEO best practices.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with content creators, marketing professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and optimize SEO efforts across all channels.
  • Lead Multi-Site SEO Strategies: Comfortably handle, oversee, and present multiple SEO strategies simultaneously, ensuring alignment and execution across various websites and platforms.
  • Present Strategies and Reports: Present SEO strategies and performance reports to internal stakeholders and clients, effectively articulating the value of SEO initiatives and their impact on overall business goals.
  • Team Development: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members and other marketing professionals outside of SEO team to foster a culture of learning and growth within the company.
  • Stay Updated on SEO Trends: Keep well-informed of industry trends, algorithm updates, and best practices to ensure the implementation of cutting-edge strategies.
