About The Position

Senior Security Officer In Regional/Resource Services at Providence Health & Services- Full-Time, Variable Schedule. This position travels and works at several Providence locations throughout the Portland metro service area. Lyra Caregiver Assistance program- Up to 25 counseling or coaching sessions per eligible member per year Receives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor or Lead Security Officer. Performs a variety of intermediate level technical security protective duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Enforces PH&S, facility and security policies and regulations. Investigates reports of potential criminal conduct against PH&S staff, visitors, staff, and property; responds and assists in restraining patients; detains individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer; and provides protective services to high risk areas. Requirements

  • Coursework/Training: Successful completion of one of the following: Certified law enforcement academy, such as corrections, police, reserve or military police, Or Completion of certified military training, Or Healthcare Security Officer Advanced or Supervisor Certification through IAHSS
  • Coursework/Training: Successful completion of 5 additional FEMA Emergency Management Institute Courses from Security Services Approved Course List.
  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Oregon Private Security Armed/Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training upon hire, Or Oregon Private Security Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training upon hire, Or Oregon Private Security Temporary Work Permit upon hire.
  • Upon hire: Valid Driver's License
  • 3 years experience in security or law enforcement in lieu of associates degree
  • Experience using personal computer with standard Microsoft applications

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree
  • Coursework/Training: College level coursework in professionally related fields such as criminal justice, social work, psychology or any social science.
  • Direct patient experience in a healthcare industry.
