About The Position

Responsible for effectively planning, developing, implementing, overseeing and implementing safety and security programs for the Center. Supervises security officers. Must be available to work any shift and day of the week due to a 24/7 operation.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Computer literacy with basic computer functions, email, internet, and basic programs such as Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong knowledge of security procedures.
  • High level of leadership and management skills.
  • High level of good judgement and observation skills.
  • Three years security, law enforcement, military, or related experience.
  • One-year supervisory experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid State Driver's License

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year in a residential living setting and background in youth services programs preferred.
  • Safety related training preferred.
  • Associates Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the safety and security of the Center to include supervision over security officers and substitutes during the shift.
  • Ensuring the enforcement of all laws, rules, and policies within his/her scope of authority.
  • Ensuring the safety, health, and security of students, staff, and property.
  • Ensuring operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Conducting foot patrols assigned areas and remains alert for disturbances, fires, safety hazards, traffic violations, suspicious and/or persons and other unusual conditions.
  • Administering rules and procedures regulating the entry, exit, and conduct of persons who seek access to the campus.
  • Aiding and assisting visitors, students, and staff in every way possible.
  • Assisting in the conduct of evaluation drills, fire drills, active shooter drills, etc. as required by the PRH.
  • Securing premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
  • Performing building security and safety checks.
  • Obtaining help by sounding alarms.
  • Receiving complaints and performs appropriate investigations as directed by management.
  • Providing transportation service as directed.
  • Investigating vehicle accidents as assigned.
  • Issuing visitor passes and temporary parking permits.
  • Performing main entrance duty.
  • Assisting in quelling disturbances.
  • Preparing written accident reports and other reports as required.
  • Completing reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
  • Coordinating recruiting, selecting, and training of security cadets.
  • Participating in preparation and enforcement of the Center's safety and fire prevention program.
  • Preventing losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
  • Participating in daily briefing covering assignments, proper dress, and procedures.
  • Providing written and oral reports, briefings, or summaries to appropriate staff.
  • Ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
  • Providing vehicle checks to all entering and exiting traffic.
  • Complying with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulation, Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), Serrato policies and procedures, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices.
  • Following CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily.
  • Models, mentors, monitors appropriate Career Success Standards.
  • Continuously helps students become more employable.
  • Participation in PRH mandated staff training is mandatory. Failure to participate may result in disciplinary actions up to and including termination.
  • Assisting in maintaining student security and accountability, during training day and evening, by continuously walking through those areas where students are being trained, having lunch, participating in dorm activities, recreational activities, and monitors grounds over entire Center.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
