About The Position

We're seeking a Security Engineer to design, develop, and implement security solutions that strengthen AWS Global ProServe's security posture. You'll build automated security mechanisms to monitor and protect AWS interactions with customers, developing elegant solutions to complex business problems while following security engineering best practices. As a Security Engineer at AWS, you'll contribute across multiple domains within Professional Services Security and throughout Amazon. You'll mentor junior engineers, serve as a security thought leader, and foster constructive dialogue while seeking continuous process improvements. You're expected to have deep expertise in at least one specialty while maintaining broad Information Security knowledge across technical areas. This role combines troubleshooting, technical, and communication skills with opportunities to handle diverse tasks including project and software development work. You'll gain new security skills and advance your career as you grow within the organization. Requirements

  • 4+ years of non-internship background in troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating complex tasks using command line tools experience
  • 5+ years of work in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans experience
  • 4+ years of (non-internship) scripting, programming, and security code review in common programming languages experience
  • Knowledge of at least two of the following programming languages: Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go
  • 5+ years of cloud architecture and solution implementation experience
  • This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques or equivalent
  • Experience with security in service-oriented architectures/microservices and web services
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
