About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to join our Orlando, FL office. This full-time position will play a leading role on our Ecosciences team, delivering complex and impactful environmental projects throughout Florida and beyond. We are seeking an experienced profession who is ready to lead, mentor, and support the continued growth of our team. As a Senior Environmental Scientist, you will lead the planning, execution, and management of environmental projects while helping to shape the next generation of talent on our team. Provide senior leadership and mentorship to junior staff on field surveys, data collection, habitat assessments, wetland delineations, and wildlife surveys and relocations. Lead regulatory coordination with local, state, and federal agencies. Prepare, oversee, and review environmental permit application packages at the local, state, and federal levels. Prepare and review complex technical reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and high-quality environmental documentation. Support marketing and business development efforts, including preparing draft scopes of work, technical units, staff-hour estimates, and contributing to proposals. Monitor budgets, schedules, and project performance to ensure profitability, quality, and timely delivery. Perform QA/QC reviews to maintain our strong commitment to high standards and technical excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in natural sciences, environmental science, biology, ecology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of practical experience in the environmental industry, including project leadership and client-facing responsibilities.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical information verbally and in writing.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; GIS mapping experience preferred.
  • Willingness to conduct fieldwork, including wetland delineations and wildlife surveys as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • FWC-authorized gopher tortoise agent (or other wildlife permit/certification) preferred.
  • Familiarity or established relationships with FDOT, regulatory agencies, and/or energy-sector clients preferred.
  • Experience leading or contributing to proposals, scopes of work, and budget development strongly preferred.
