In this role, the Senior Scientist works with established internal and external customer networks to share and leverage products and techniques in the associated category. The role is based in New Century, KS. Travel may be required up to 40% of the time. This position is considered an Anchor and requires working in the lab/pilot plant for 5 days/week. Where You’ll Make a Difference Lead projects from concept to completion, acting as a project leader and ensuring timely delivery. Partner with production and quality teams to support scale-up trials and troubleshoot technical issues. Develop finished product formulations using IFF technologies that meet client, legal, cost, and stability requirements. Provide technical guidance on complex problems and ensure consistent commercial success. Drive innovation by introducing new ingredients, leveraging IFF technology, and supporting category growth initiatives. Deliver technical training programs and promote IFF innovation programs within the organization. Build strong customer relationships through technical services, plant trials, and presentations. Mentor junior scientists and lead cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years working experience in industrial food, ingredient, or flavor industry, plus a minimum 5 years in the Bakery industry.
  • 2-3 years’ experience as leader in interdepartmental cross-functional team roles
  • Minimum entry level is a University/College Degree in Grain/Bakery/Food Science and Technology or related disciplines (such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Biology)
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), organizational and interpersonal skills are necessary
