Requirements
- Master’s with 4+ plus years or a PhD in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related discipline, ideally with specialization in process modelling with 0-2 years of experience.
- Extensive knowledge of process modelling fundamentals and demonstrable experience applying these principles to the development of industrial-scale products or processes.
- Proficiency in programming and simulation tools (such as Python, Matlab, gPROMS), with a readiness to explore new technologies.
- Strong collaboration, communication, influencing, and networking skills.
Nice To Haves
- Proven experience within pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals, food, cosmetics, personal care, or consumer goods.
- Experience with one or more of the following techniques: process modelling, discrete element modelling, computational fluid dynamics, system modelling, multiscale modelling, molecular dynamics.
- Comprehensive understanding of process equipment and technology.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively introduce and apply novel modelling approaches to advance product development and manufacturing.
- A track record of scientific publications in the field of modelling and simulation.
Responsibilities
- Translate sophisticated pharmaceutical process problems into robust mechanistic models, providing actionable insights to accelerate drug development projects.
- Collaborate with experimental scientists from a diverse group of backgrounds to uncover new modelling opportunities and strategically guide experimental design.
- Establish strong, collaborative relationships within the digital and broader product development communities to improve the progressive impact of modelling and simulation.
- Drive organizational digital transformation by advancing standard processes and advocating for the application of ground breaking digital tools, including making them available to agentic AI systems.
- Develop, validate, and deploy modelling and simulation protocols to support scientists across the wider scientific community.
