About The Position

SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Senior Scheduling Engineer will provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management , Engineering, or equivalent field
  • Minimum of four years construction experience or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills and effective communication, open to diverse input and feedback
  • Ability to travel may be required based on operating group
  • Thorough knowledge of scheduling concepts, principles, practices, and company software
  • Thorough knowledge of standard construction practices and project sequencing
  • Ability to exercise creativity and mature judgment in solving unprecedented problems on complex projects
  • Strong plan and specification reading, review, and interpretation skills
  • Basic knowledge of project management, contracts, and buyout
  • Working knowledge of 4D visual planning methodologies
  • Strong organization and team skills
  • Basic knowledge of cost and resource loaded schedules
  • Basic knowledge of claims avoidance and resolution techniques
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative, team-based environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with initiative to seek innovative solutions
  • Results-oriented to ensure delivery of accurate, complete, and timely products and services
  • Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TN, CPT, OPT, etc.). We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities
  • Plan, coordinate, supervise, and direct planning and scheduling activities
  • Ensure that corporate planning and schedule stands are implemented and that all project related activities comply
  • Provide oversight and supervision of scheduling team
  • Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, forepersons, and assistant superintendents
  • Establish and nurture teamwork environment
  • Ensure crews have resources and support
  • Provide work direction and performance evaluations
  • Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions if needed
  • Develop leadership potential through appropriate task assignments and career growth opportunities
  • Implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program at project site
  • Manage open shop and union issues
  • Maintain relationships with all visitors to the site:  customers, architects, union representatives, subcontractors, et al.
  • Manage site work and logistics efficiently, providing suggestions for improvement
  • Other duties as assigned

  • The base pay range for this role is $102,000 MIN - $137,700 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
  • This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
