About The Position

The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for generating top-line revenue through proactive sales efforts, market positioning, and relationship building. The role requires a self-starter who thrives in a resort environment and can move quickly from strategy to execution. This position will focus on local corporate, group, and extended-stay opportunities while establishing the hotel as a preferred option within the Scottsdale market.

Requirements

  • Proven success in proactive sales, account development, and revenue generation.
  • Strong understanding of hotel KPIs including ADR, occupancy, RevPAR, and sales pace.
  • Computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, and familiarity with brand specific property Management System(s).
  • Ability to exercise excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management and listening skills.
  • Ability to use analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the hotel.
  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of hotel sales experience, preferably within a resort atmosphere.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced opening environment.
  • Ability to speak and hear in English.
  • Close and distance vision.
  • Frequent sitting with some walking and standing.
  • Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs.
  • Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.

  • Degree in Hotel Restaurant Management, Business, a related field, or equipvalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years hotel sales experience or the equivalent amount of industry experience; OR, equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead proactive sales efforts prior to and following hotel opening to establish market presence and accelerate revenue growth
  • Build brand awareness and position the hotel competitively within the local market
  • Identify and pursue new accounts while converting leads into contracted and repeat business
  • Build strong relationships with local businesses, medical, education, government, sports, and community organizations
  • Participate in networking events, chamber activities, and community functions to generate new demand
  • Maintain a strong pipeline and manage accounts from prospecting through post-stay follow-up
  • Develop and execute monthly and quarterly sales action plans aligned with budget and ramp expectations
  • Track activity, pace, and performance using CRM tools and brand systems
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and booking patterns to adjust strategy as needed
  • Work closely with the Director of Sales and operations team to ensure alignment
  • Support a culture of accountability, urgency, and professionalism.
  • Represent the hotel brand with confidence, integrity, and enthusiasm
