Position Summary: The Senior Sales Engineer is a key technical advisor and solution architect supporting the federal sales team. This role is responsible for designing tailored IT solutions, engaging with agency technical stakeholders, and aligning technology offerings with mission needs. The ideal candidate brings strong technical acumen, experience in federal sales engagements, and the ability to lead pre-sales efforts from discovery to proposal.

  • Lead technical discovery sessions with federal customers to assess mission needs and define solution requirements.
  • Architect IT solutions across compute, storage, networking, cybersecurity, and cloud platforms in alignment with government standards.
  • Collaborate with sales executives to develop winning proposals, including technical designs, bills of materials (BOMs),and compliance documentation.
  • Serve as the technical liaison between CACI idt, OEMs, and federal customers throughout the pre-sales process.
  • Prepare and deliver solution briefings, technical demonstrations, and whiteboarding sessions to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support responses to RFPs, RFIs, and other acquisition documents with clear, compliant technical narratives.
  • Stay up to date on OEM partner technologies, federal mandates (e.g., FedRAMP, Zero Trust, etc.), and acquisition trends.
  • Mentor junior sales engineers and contribute to the development of internal solution templates and best practices.
  • 10+ years of experience in pre-sales engineering, solution architecture, or technical consulting in the federal market.
  • In-depth knowledge of infrastructure, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies (e.g., Dell, Cisco, HPE, Microsoft , etc.).
  • Strong understanding of federal procurement processes, compliance frameworks, and contract vehicles.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to business outcomes.
  • Experience working with or within VARs, systems integrators, or OEMs supporting government agencies.
  • Proficient in creating technical diagrams, BOMs, and solution documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Active technical certifications (e.g., CCNP, VCP, AWS Solutions Architect, Security+) preferred.
