About The Position

The Senior Sales Engineer will play a critical role in driving business growth by combining technical expertise with client engagement skills. This position focuses on High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions for IBMi workloads across on-premises and cloud environments. The role requires developing and delivering tailored demonstrations, presentations, and proof-of-concepts to prospective clients while addressing complex technical challenges. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with sales teams, build strong relationships with key stakeholders, and stay ahead of industry trends to provide innovative solutions. This is a dynamic, high-impact role that blends technical proficiency with strategic sales influence, offering opportunities to contribute directly to business expansion and customer success.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in sales engineering or related technical sales roles
  • Expertise in IBMi Operating Systems, Journaling, Logical Replication, HA, and DR concepts
  • Experience with hot standby systems for business continuity and disaster recovery
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, logical replication, and multi-factor authentication concepts
  • Strong problem-solving, requirements gathering, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time for client visits and industry events

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of RedHat Linux and REST services is desirable but not required

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage technical sales engagements, showcasing HA/DR solutions for IBMi applications
  • Collaborate with sales teams to design and deliver customized presentations, demos, and proof-of-concepts
  • Support digital transformation and modernization initiatives using IBMi and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Skytap)
  • Analyze customer challenges and provide innovative HA/DR solutions to meet business objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging HA/DR technologies
  • Manage multiple projects and client engagements simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction
