CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Ag Retail division for a Senior EHS Specialist. In this role, you’ll provide technical support and guidance on all matters related to safety. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of experience in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety

Nice To Haves

  • Effective communication & relationship skills
  • Ability to travel 30-50%
  • Agriculture background or facility operation experience.
  • Ability to complete OSHA 30-hour training certification program.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Occupational Health, Environmental Health and Safety, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate compliance with all applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) related requirements (federal, state, local, and company).
  • Communicate EH&S related requirements and expectations to location personnel to ensure regulatory compliance and a safe work environment.
  • Routinely visit locations in the business unit to conduct facility inspections and provide EHS support to operations personnel.
  • Appropriately respond to day-to-day EH&S related concerns and events in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist more junior team members in work activities.
  • Develop and implement EH&S related plans, programs, policies, and procedures as needed.
  • Conduct effective EH&S related training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Conduct EH&S related audits, workplace inspections, job safety analyses, and maintain detailed recordkeeping.
  • Conduct thorough incident investigations, manage worker’s compensation process, and return to work program.
  • Actively monitor, manage, and follow-up on EH&S incidents and performance metrics.
  • Evaluate EH&S metrics and collaborate with EH&S and Operations leadership to develop action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Keep current on applicable EH&S related rules and regulations.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
