Lochner – learn more about us Your impact: Serve as a staff specialist in the application of advanced civil engineering theories, concepts, and principles for an assigned area of responsibility. The candidate must be capable of analyzing all technical aspects of civil engineering, identifying issues and applying suitable solutions, analyzing complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures, and recommending major design changes. Review construction plans, design calculations, specifications, cost estimates to ensure completeness, accuracy, constructability, and conformity to local standards or best engineering practices. Technical experts in the design of street improvements such as roadway widening and narrowing, curb extensions, curb ramps, and pavement rehabilitation. Ability to sign and stamp Civil plans. Strong report writing skills Be responsible for the quality assurance and quality control through the development and review of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Responsible for preparing project reports and feasibility studies. Be a team player who could work with all staff levels. Lead aspects of project pursuit teams and participate in the development of a project proposal and/or interview. Who are you: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, master’s degree is desirable. 15+ years of civil engineering design experience. Professional Civil Engineering License in California required. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, and Civil3D. Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite and Bluebeam. Advanced knowledge of relevant design standards and guidelines such as Caltrans Standard Plans & Specifications, Caltrans Highway Design Manual and associated Design Information Bulletins, Standard Plans and Specifications for Public Works Construction, and various other local municipal design standards. The ability to work with our talented marketing team to support project pursuits, including the development of project proposals (written, presentations, interviews etc.). Advanced level of technical writing and communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to build strong relationships. The range for this position is approximately $165k - $200k per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
