Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 10-15 years of roadway design and project management experience
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word, outlook, and access
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of government contract management and knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
  • Scope and budget development and oversight experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
  • Excellent people manager, open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done
  • Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization.
  • Ability to look at situations from several points of view.
  • Persuasive with details and facts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage roadway and highway design projects for state DOTs, LPAs, and other public-sector clients.
  • Direct design efforts for horizontal/vertical alignments, roadway geometrics, grading, drainage, and plan development.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
  • Provide QA/QC oversight, ensuring that our deliverables meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Mentor and support junior engineering staff — helping to build a collaborative and high-performing team.
  • Partner across disciplines, working with MSG’s Survey, Geotechnical, Structural, and Environmental teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Engage directly with clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction from concept to completion.
  • Contribute to business development, including proposal writing, presentations, and pursuit strategies that expand MSG’s transportation portfolio.
  • Represent MSG in professional associations and technical committees, sharing your expertise and strengthening our industry presence.
