SUMMARY The Senior Revenue Accountant will be responsible for recording all revenue for the Company and ensuring compliance with ASC 606. This role is responsible for analyzing all revenue for compliance with GAAP, reviewing billing activity in Zuora Billing to ensure completeness in Zuora Revenue, and reporting activity to internal and external stakeholders. This role requires a solid understanding of revenue recognition, accounts receivable, billing, indirect taxation and accounting fundamentals. This is a hybrid role (3 days in office, 2 days remote from home) in our beautiful Lehi office located at 3300 Triumph Blvd, Suite 800, Lehi, UT 84043.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • 5 years of current accounting experience working with revenue recognition under ASC 606 in a SaaS environment.
  • Advanced Excel and database knowledge (Database and table linkage, Queries, V-Lookup, Pivot Tables, Advance Filtering) is preferred.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver results/outcomes as committed.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, solution-oriented mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree, preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant, preferred. Public accounting experience, preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience with Zuora Revenue and/or Zuora Billing and proficiency in NetSuite is preferred.
  • Experience drafting technical memos and evaluating multi‑element arrangements in a high volume, multi-currency software environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce/CRM, preferred.
  • SQL/Snowflake or similar BI experience for revenue analytics, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer contracts for revenue implications and partner with Sales, Deal Desk, and Legal to review non-standard terms and ensure scalable ASC 606 outcomes.
  • Draft ASC 606 technical accounting memos, including SSP analysis and variable consideration assessments, and maintain revenue accounting policies.
  • Operate Zuora Revenue (RevPro): manage period close, investigate exceptions, run revenue journals, and reconcile to NetSuite; lead continuous automation across Zuora Revenue and NetSuite.
  • Own SOX controls within order‑to‑cash (design, execution, evidence).
  • Support the audit process by preparing audit PBCs, participating in walkthroughs, and drafting revenue disclosures.
  • Reconcile monthly the Zuora/NetSuite Accounts Receivable subledgers. Ensure that errors and exceptions are resolved.
  • Prepare detailed analysis and trend review of month-end AR balances to ensure reserves are proper and identify issues related to collections/deactivations.
  • Prepare the analysis of sales reserves, downgrades, and other customer credits.
  • Prepare monthly entries for revenue recognition and participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities including variance analysis and reconciliations.
  • Partner with Tax on Avalara configuration and sales-tax validation.
  • Prepare revenue forecast and compare actuals to forecast with explanations for variances in partnership with FP&A. Participate in preparation of revenue and accounts receivable related balance sheet forecasts.
  • Develop special reports and ad-hoc analyses.
  • Other day-to-day accounting duties and special projects as assigned.
