About The Position

ASFC Federal AFSS is seeking a Resource Analyst to provide Full-Time support to a NASA contract in Greenbelt, MD. The role involves providing senior resources support to the Earth Sciences Division (Code 610) offices, centering on a variety of complex functions, including development of process improvements, development of improved tracking mechanisms, trend analysis, budget and formulation. The position requires full-time on-site support reporting to Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. Specifically, the individual will provide all aspects of Resources Analysis Support to the Oceans Ecology Laboratory/Code 616 of the Earth Sciences Division-Sciences and Exploration Directorate, including financial management for a large scale mission known as the PACE (Plankton, Aerosol, Clouds, ocean Ecology) Project.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and respond / produce quality work efficiently with short deadline actions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess a strong sense of ethics, discretion, and professional sophistication.
  • Ability to communicate project status and issues to customers and leadership as they arise.
  • Meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC.
  • Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 or more years of professional experience or 9 or more years of related experience in lieu of degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Competency in the GSFC financial systems, including SAP, BOBj, FCS, PAM, RBet and MAPS.
  • Past experience in financial management of large-scale instrument project missions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level resource support to the Oceans Ecology Laboratory/Code 616 of the Earth Sciences Division-Sciences and Exploration Directorate.
  • Provide all aspects of Resources Analysis Support to the Laboratory (Code 616) at the Goddard Space Flight Center.
  • Create, track, and maintain multiple budgets.
  • Create and maintain tracking workbooks and spreadsheets.
  • Plan and track workforce estimates and actuals.
  • Monitor and analyze costs and variances for contracts, cooperative agreements, grants etc.
  • Provide financial management to a large scale mission known as the PACE (Plankton, Aerosol, Clouds, ocean Ecology) Project.
  • Review and report on spending plans versus actuals by participating in monthly status reviews with Laboratory scientists and Resources.
  • Review proposals to ensure all budgets are correct and accurate.
  • Assist as needed in proposal preparation.
  • Complete action items and calls as they arise, such as Planning, Programming, Budget and Execution (PPBE), variance analysis, and mid-year reviews.
  • May be responsible for taking direction from leadership and distributing information to team members, stakeholders, and leadership quickly and efficiently.
