Our Animal Microbial Research department at Novonesis is looking for a committed and skilled research associate with a passion for assays, method development, screening of microorganisms, data analysis, automation, and digitalization. Naturally you will also need a strong personal drive, curiosity and collaboration in a changing environment. Welcome to Animal Biosolutions Applied Research As part of Animal Biosolutions Applied Research, Animal Microbial Research focuses on product development and innovation that is based on scientific understanding of the mode of action, application and industry knowledge – all in close collaboration with core R&D, marketing and other stakeholders. Requirements

  • An MS in Microbiology, Biology, Animal Science, or related field
  • Preferably 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with assay development, microbial screening, and characterization of microorganisms
  • General knowledge of data collection and data management within a research setting
  • Experience with analyzing data sets, visualizing results (preferably JMP) and to be able to document and communicate results
  • Desire to learn new things and take ownership for equipment, processes, planning of daily work, and coordination with team
  • Strong communication skills, an open-minded positive attitude, and a desire to achieve results with others

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably expertise in automation and programming of liquid handlers

Responsibilities

  • Working on new product development and life-cycle management projects in close collaboration with research teams and marketing
  • Developing assays for screening in applied conditions
  • Performing microbial enumeration, automation, and digitalization
  • Testing for feed additive activity in feed samples
  • Investigating and understanding modes of action
  • Engaging proactively with your team and stakeholders
  • Combining scientific excellence with creativity and teamwork
  • Working independently to explore, analyze and conclude on data.
