About The Position

The Senior Research Assistant will support multidisciplinary research experiments involving cell biology, experimental cell and animal models of cancer, optical microscopy and spectroscopy, and image analysis in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. The SRA will oversee and manage the work of graduate students and undergraduate researchers in the lab. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in biomedical engineering or a related field
  • General knowledge of scientific theory and methods
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately
  • Ability to work with human study participants
  • Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in biomedical engineering or a related field
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and sustain diverse activities simultaneously
  • Experience carrying out controlled experiments, employing standard protocols, and rigorous sterile technique
