Job Description Provides immediate supervision to a unit of employees. Sets and delegates day-to-day tasks to achieve operational objectives. A portion of time may be spent performing individual tasks related to the unit; however, supervisory activities must constitute a primary part of the job. Supervises unit operations to ensure compliance with divisional and Agency policies, procedures, and defined internal controls. Problems typically involve a single area, process or group. Ensures accountability and stewardship of Agency resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with divisional standards and procedures. Review files to ensure required timelines have been met such as HUD’s Reasonable Diligence Deadline and calculate self-curtailment of interest or other expenses accordingly. Work effectively with other teams and departments in researching issues related to the mortgage insurance claims submission process. Review and approve attorney invoices received during the claims process. Review all required documentation such as PHFA’s payments for attorney fees, HOA fees, municipal bills, taxes and liens to ensure documentation is sufficient and compliant. Research unique scenarios and questions using the applicable federal agency guidelines and internal servicing guide. Prepare, sign and submit claim forms using the applicable agency’s submission process, forms and portals. Serve as a point person for audits from federal housing agencies. Gather and review pertinent documents as needed and help field questions and findings from auditors. Respond to findings from the internal quality control reviews. Train and mentor new claims staff as needed. Supervise staff as assigned by Manager Complete performance appraisals of staff, as directed by Manager Additional tasks as assigned by Manager.
