This is a limited-term contract position with a target hiring wage of $45–$60 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Dairyland Power Cooperative offers a hybrid workplace model, and for the right candidate, remote work will be considered if based in Wisconsin or Minnesota. Occasional travel to Dairyland Power Cooperative’s headquarters in La Crosse, WI or other locations may be required as necessary. The Senior Recruiter is responsible for executing recruitment strategies designed to attract top talent, ensuring alignment with Dairyland’s mission, values, and workforce planning goals. This role involves sourcing, engaging, and hiring exceptional candidates while managing the full-cycle recruitment process. Additional responsibilities include building and maintaining talent pipelines, as well as driving initiatives to enhance Dairyland’s employer brand within the electric cooperative industry. As a key contributor to the HR team, the Senior Recruiter will deliver proactive recruitment support and champion best practices to achieve organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, management, communications, marketing or a related field required.
  • Experience: 5+ years of full-cycle recruitment experience, preferably with a focus on professional and technical roles in dynamic or specialized fields. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Proven experience in sourcing passive candidates and building talent pipelines.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple, high-priority roles simultaneously.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with candidates and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Expertise in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment platforms.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to inform decisions and improve processes.
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for attracting and retaining top talent.
  • Ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to solve people-related business problems
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently

Nice To Haves

  • HR certifications (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
  • Workday experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Full-Cycle Recruitment: Manage the entire recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks, and offer negotiations. Ensure a seamless candidate experience from application through onboarding.
  • Strategic Talent Sourcing: Proactively source and engage passive candidates using advanced tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, employee referrals, and networking events. Build and maintain robust talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
  • Employer Branding: Partner with marketing and HR teams to enhance Dairyland’s employer brand through social media, career fairs, and other outreach efforts. Ensure job advertisements and recruitment materials reflect our values and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work closely with HR Business Partners and Leaders to understand job requirements, team dynamics, and organizational goals. Provide guidance on recruitment strategies, market trends, and candidate selection to ensure successful hiring outcomes.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Track and analyze recruitment metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, quality of hire, sourcing effectiveness) to continuously improve processes. Prepare regular reports and presentations for HR leadership on recruitment outcomes and trends.
  • Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure recruitment practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Stay updated on industry trends and implement best practices to improve recruitment effectiveness.
