Senior Reactor Operator Candidate The Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) candidate reports directly to the Senior Manager, Operations and will attend license class to obtain a license for Kemmerer Unit 1 (KU1). Until such time that license class is conducted the candidate will support the project in various positions to build plant knowledge to improve chance of success. The candidate will be involved with procedure and program development, training program development, and plant design reviews for operations. The successful candidate will integrate and coordinate with other departments, project partners, regulators, and outside organizations working on the needs of the project.

Requirements

Senior Reactor Operator license preferred. May accept Reactor Operator license or SRO Certification.
3 years commercial nuclear power plant operator experience.
5 years experience working at a commercial nuclear power plant.
Bachelors Degree in science or engineering required.
High level of knowledge of nuclear power plant systems and terminology.
Experience with interpreting relevant nuclear information and standards in strict procedural and regulatory compliance.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
Attention to detail and aspiration for excellence.
Self-starter who can develop innovative solutions with minimal supervision.
The successful candidate will: - possess a high degree of trust and integrity, openly communicate, and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork. - understand how individual actions and decisions can positively and negatively affect the ability of the total organization to meet its requirements to regulatory agencies and to the public. - adapt well to emergent changes due to changes in plant design, plant procedures, schedule changes, or other challenges associated with the design, construction, and commissioning of a new nuclear power plant.

Responsibilities

Participate in training to obtain an SRO license for the Natrium plant.
Will provide assistance and support to other members of the class to ensure a successful training program.
Coordinate with other departments for cross-discipline procedure development, design reviews, and training development.
Use smart procedures or other software-based support tools to develop electronic procedures.
Complete 10CFR50.59 and 10CFR72.48 reviews, as applicable.
Consider and integrate use of cross-trained resources in procedure development, training development, and design reviews to improve organizational efficiency.
Engage with industry peers, 3rd party vendors, ASME, NEI, EPRI, and other organizations to find innovative methods and technologies for the development of procedures, training, and the design of the plant.
Ensure administrative and process implementation procedures comply with company standards, NRC regulations, INPO accreditation criteria, and other codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Develop and maintain knowledge of plant design, plant operations, and discipline specific skills and techniques commensurate with the responsibility to develop procedures and training and perform effective design reviews.
Assist the Sr Manager, Operations in establishing department goals and cost estimates that result in budgeted activities for the assigned area including specific project or subject matter areas as assigned.
Although primary focus may be associated with discipline-specific processes and procedures, perform other assigned tasks that support meeting site procedure development schedules.
