Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first The Senior Rapid Development Engineer designs, builds, and maintains rapid analytics solutions and reusable reporting assets that enable the efficient conversion of structured and unstructured data into actionable insights at enterprise scale. The Senior Rapid Development Analyst work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. This role operates as a senior individual contributor, working with minimal direction, and partners closely with the Design and Innovation Lead, business stakeholders, stars analytics analytics, data engineering, and BI teams to accelerate delivery of high-impact analytics products. The Senior Rapid Development Engineer rapidly translates business requirements into analytics deliverables by building prototypes and production-ready solutions such as dashboards, scorecards, automated reports, KPI monitoring, and decision tools. Utilizes modern analytics platforms and software development best practices (e.g., SQL optimization, data modeling concepts, version control, documentation standards) to cleanse, organize, validate, and transform data into insights and actions that enable the organization to better serve members and business partners. This role begins to influence the department’s analytics approach through repeatable patterns, templates, and recommended standards that improve speed-to-value and user adoption. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding analytical approach, data interpretation, and solution design and builds.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business, Public Health, or related field OR equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in analytics, BI/reporting, data analysis, or analytics solution development.
  • Advanced SQL skills (complex joins, window functions, performance tuning, validation/reconciliation).
  • Experience delivering dashboards/scorecards in a BI tool (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Looker, etc.).
  • Experience with automation/scripting (Python and/or R) and strong Excel skills (Power Query preferred).
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver outcomes on short timelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare/managed care experience (Medicare Stars, HEDIS, CAHPS/HOS, risk adjustment, regulatory reporting, quality improvement).
  • Familiarity with cloud/data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Big Query, etc.) and data pipeline concepts.
  • Experience with agile delivery, product thinking, Git/version control, and data governance practices.
  • Experience building analytics tools such as calculators, forecasting views, and operational performance monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Build/iterate dashboards and reporting solutions (e.g., Tableau/Power BI or equivalent).
  • Write and optimize SQL for extraction, validation, and transformation; ensure data quality and reconciliation.
  • Automate recurring analytics and reporting using scripting and workflow tools (Python/R/Alteryx/Power Query or equivalent).
  • Implement documentation, refresh logic, controls, and basic monitoring to support reliability and auditability.
  • Partner with engineering/BI teams to productionize solutions and align to governance and enterprise standards.
  • Communicate results clearly to technical and non-technical audiences; provide recommendations that drive action.
