Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first The Design & Innovation Lead conceives of, develops, delivers, and manages user-centered analytics products and experiences that enable Medicare Stars performance improvement. This role works on problems of diverse scope and complexity (moderate to substantial), translating business needs into intuitive dashboards, decision tools, and scalable solutions. The Design & Innovation Lead partners across Analytics, Quality, Operations, and Technology to ensure solutions meet customer needs, drive adoption, and achieve enterprise success. The Design & Innovation Lead leads all phases of the solution/product life cycle—from discovery and inception through delivery, launch, and iteration—by designing and developing analytics products to meet specific customer needs and achieve defined success outcomes (e.g., adoption, usability, decision impact, and measurable performance improvement). Once products are launched, monitors efficacy of products and uses customer and business partner feedback to ensure products are meeting customer needs across each customer segmentation, adjusting products over time to continue to achieve the desired outcomes. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent experience (degree not required if experience demonstrates capability).
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in product design, UX/UI, analytics visualization, digital product delivery, or related experience and/or 2+ years of project/product leadership experience with demonstrated delivery ownership.
  • Experience designing and improving dashboards/decision-support tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker or similar).
  • Proven stakeholder facilitation and ability to translate business needs into usable solutions with measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Product Discovery & Requirements: Lead discovery with stakeholders to define user needs, workflows, KPI hierarchy, and success measures; translate ambiguous needs into clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Design & Prototyping: Create rapid prototypes (wireframes, clickable mockups, workflows) and partner with BI/Data Engineering to deliver production-ready dashboards, calculators, and reporting experiences.
  • Innovation Pipeline: Establish and run an innovation pipeline (intake → triage → prototype → pilot → scale), prioritizing work based on impact, feasibility, and alignment to enterprise Stars strategy.
  • Adoption & Enablement: Drive adoption through usability testing, training materials, playbooks, release notes, and stakeholder engagement; create feedback loops to reduce rework and improve user satisfaction.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with data governance and engineering to ensure consistent definitions, scalable designs, and alignment to enterprise data strategy (security/PHI compliance, single source of truth, standardized KPI logic).
  • Executive Advising & Decision Support: Advise leaders on functional strategies (often segment-specific) related to analytics product design and innovation priorities; influence decisions with strong storytelling and structured recommendations.
