This role is a key driver of product and process excellence across the organization. The Senior Quality Engineer ensures compliance with customer and industry standards, strengthens supplier and internal quality performance, and leads data‑driven improvements that reduce scrap, enhance capability, and elevate operational efficiency. Success in this role is measured by the ability to proactively identify risks, collaborate across functions, and deliver sustainable quality and productivity outcomes that support both customer satisfaction and operational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 7–10 years of relevant experience in quality, manufacturing, or process engineering, with demonstrated application of industry standards and analytical tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and ISO/TS16949 quality management systems.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab), and technical modeling software.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Meets required vision standards (20/20 in at least one eye per J1 standard) and color‑perception requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards by conducting internal, external, and supplier audits (ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO/TS16949), maintaining required documentation, and verifying adherence to customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives by participating in Six Sigma projects, applying structured problem‑solving methods (8D preferred), and driving targeted product and process improvements.
  • Reduce scrap, rework, and process variation through effective cross‑functional collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Inspection, and Purchasing teams.
  • Strengthen supplier performance by establishing incoming inspection requirements, conducting supplier audits, maintaining supplier quality and delivery metrics, and resolving purchased‑material issues through corrective actions.
  • Support new product introduction and customer approval processes by executing APQP activities, PFMEA, control plans, flow diagrams, SPC, PPAP documentation, and customer interface as required.
  • Validate product conformity and disposition nonconforming material through final inspections, first article reviews, MRB assessments, and determination of rework, deviation, or scrap.
  • Improve manufacturing capability and efficiency by defining equipment specifications, recommending process enhancements, developing inspection methods, and supporting the introduction of new tools or technologies.
  • Apply advanced statistical and analytical methods (MSA, capability studies, DOE, Minitab) to evaluate process performance and drive data‑based decision‑making.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between production planning, engineering, suppliers, and customers to ensure alignment on quality requirements and timely resolution of issues.
  • Support organizational capability building by training less‑experienced personnel, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and consistently delivering on commitments.
