About The Position

As a Senior Quality Engineer for Crestron XiO Cloud, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and functionality of Crestron's cloud-based device management platform. Crestron XiO Cloud is a Microsoft Azure–based solution used to deploy, monitor, configure, and manage Crestron and supported third-party devices at scale. Your role will focus on validating end-to-end cloud workflows, device interactions, firmware behavior, and large-scale provisioning scenarios. Job Responsibilities In this role at Crestron, you will be responsible to Functional & Integration Testing Validate XiO Cloud provisioning, monitoring, and device‑management workflows across supported Crestron hardware and third-party devices. Test device onboarding, claiming, connectivity, remote configuration, firmware update workflows, and cloud–device communication paths based on Azure IoT Hub messaging. Verify correct behavior of system-defined group structures, configuration inheritance, and organizational hierarchies within the cloud environment. 2. Cloud Platform Quality Assurance Validate Azure‑backed, multi‑tenant features such as SSO (SAML), access roles, permissions, MFA, and secure communication. Validate compatibility against supported firmware and minimum software versions. 3. Performance, Load, and Scalability Testing Design and execute large‑scale tests simulating enterprise deployments, including managing thousands of devices concurrently. Validate mass provisioning, bulk configuration push, simultaneous firmware updates, and multi‑region device monitoring scenarios. Assess uptime, historical reporting accuracy, and analytics insights such as occupancy‑based usage and device‑health trends 4. Bug Tracking & Release Quality Reproduce, isolate, and document product issues including device behavior, cloud portal anomalies, and firmware interactions. File standardized defects with logs, reproduction steps, and severity classification using systems like JIRA/Xray. Participate in release readiness reviews and sign‑off cycles for cloud and firmware updates. 5. Cross‑Team Collaboration Work closely with Product Owners to refine test scenarios, use cases, and acceptance criteria for new XiO Cloud features. Collaborate with Cloud Operations for environment validation and troubleshooting service-level issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics/Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in Cloud QA, SaaS testing, IoT testing, or device‑ecosystem quality engineering.
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Device‑to‑cloud communication
  • Networking fundamentals (IP, routing, ports, firewalls)
  • Experience with:
  • Strong in Manual Testing.
  • API testing
  • Test tools: JIRA, Xray (or equivalents)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with an ability to collaborate within a team and cross-functional peers to support Crestron initiatives.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a self-starter capable of working autonomously with minimum direction
  • Self-motivated critical thinker with the ability to master new technology concepts quickly
  • Solid work ethic with strong desire to resolve technical issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as you will be working with cross functional teams and service providers

Nice To Haves

  • Good to have experience in automated testing (Java Selenium, Python)
  • Experience with Crestron hardware ecosystems or AV‑control systems(Good to have)
  • Hands-on experience testing IoT management platforms.
  • Familiarity with identity systems like Azure AD/Entra ID, SSO, and MFA.
  • Exposure to enterprise-scale device provisioning or monitoring platforms.
