About The Position

CGI has an immediate need for a Senior Python Developer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest customers. We take an innovative approach to supporting our client, working side-by-side in an agile environment using emerging technologies. We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years!. This position is based in Reston, VA, with an onsite requirement of at least three days per week (Monday–Wednesday). We are seeking a Senior Python Developer to support building and enhancing a critical data pipeline used to manage security findings across the organization. This role is a backfill position for an approved engagement and will play a key part in improving automation, efficiency, and data flow across multiple downstream teams. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable Python-based data pipelines that ingest vulnerability scan data, contextualize findings, generate remediation tickets, and feed updates back into the system. You will work extensively with big data technologies and AWS services, collaborating closely with a team of experienced developers and technical leads in a highly collaborative environment. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on Python experience, strong big data and AWS expertise, and the ability to think critically about end-to-end automation. Experience with vulnerability management, security tooling, or financial services environments is a plus, but not required.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on Python development experience, with a focus on large-scale or data-intensive applications
  • 5+ years working with AWS, big data platforms, and data pipeline architectures
  • Strong experience designing and building data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and downstream processing
  • Solid background in big data technologies, including Hadoop, Spark, PySpark, and Hive
  • Hands-on experience working in AWS environments, particularly with services such as EMR and other managed data services
  • Experience implementing end-to-end automation workflows using AWS-native tools
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with APIs for data integration
  • Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Working knowledge of GitLab and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex data and pipeline issues
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a development team and across partner teams in a matrixed organization

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to AI concepts or applied AI use cases, with the ability to provide technical input or guidance
  • Experience supporting vulnerability management or security-related platforms
  • Background in financial services, mortgage, or regulated enterprise environments
