About The Position

Senior Public Health Research Scientist ICF is seeking a well-organized and detail-oriented candidate with administrative, research, evaluation, or grants management experience to support several federal or state government public health and behavioral health evaluation, data collection, and grants management projects.

Requirements

• Masters Degree in public health, public administration, business administration, health policy, data analytics, economics, or related field.
• 3+years of experience in research, program evaluation, data collection, or technical assistance within public-sector, healthcare, or grant-funded environments.
• 1 + year of experience in Microsoft Office 365 and Windows, including experience using Excel.
• 1 + year of experience supporting data collection processes by providing data technical assistance, conducting data collection (surveys or interviews), or cleaning and managing data.

Nice To Haves

• Professional or educational experience in behavioral health (mental health or substance use treatment or prevention).
• Experience with using a statistical package (e.g., R, Stata, SAS) or qualitative analysis software (e.g., MAXQDA, ATLAS.ti).
• Experience with program evaluation.
• Experience with grant compliance/monitoring.
• Proactive and problem-solving approach to challenges
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a large team
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

• Perform routine data management tasks (data cleaning, data processing, data merging)
• Perform data validation and data quality assurance processes
• Contribute to the development of reports, manuscripts, briefing materials, etc.
• Support qualitative data collection and analysis (conduct interviews, assist in coding data)
• Contribute to the development of: Data management and data analysis plans; Procedures for data collection; Written or visual reports (dashboards, infographics); Proposal or grant submissions, including but not limited to technical writing.
