Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in the engineering industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, etc.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint - Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • Ability to work and collaborate with team members, clients, and the public
  • Exceptional writing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, resourceful, self-starter
  • Experience in community engagement/public involvement strategies and/or public/media relations
  • Experience in transportation, infrastructure, or government.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic communications and outreach plans in Utah markets
  • Manage projects and/or public engagements phases of projects, including scope, schedule, budget, profitability and invoicing
  • Produce and distribute content for public information materials, including flyers, door hangers, websites, newsletters, mass and social media, presentations, exhibit boards, maps, etc.
  • Plan, execute and facilitate special events including public meetings and hearings, open houses, groundbreakings, and more
  • Work with in-house graphic design team to create print and digital collateral
  • Manage communication channels including responding to public inquiries as needed
  • Support business objectives including client relations and new business pursuits
  • Participate in project and practice meetings
  • Mentor and manage practice staff as applicable
