The Opportunity Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, you’ll have end-to-end ownership of the financials for a portfolio of real estate assets. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you won’t be siloed—you’ll touch every aspect of the financial lifecycle, partner closely with operations, and gain exposure that supports long-term career growth. This position is based in our newly renovated Buckhead office, located in Buckhead Plaza—steps from restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, and directly across from Buckhead Village.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
  • 7+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting
  • Real estate and/or REIT experience
  • Intermediate Excel skills (sort, filter, VLOOKUP, basic modeling)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MRI or other multi-entity accounting systems (preferred)
  • Experience with Nexus AP or similar AP platforms (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Own the general ledger for a portfolio of real estate assets from start to finish
  • Prepare and post journal entries (prepaids, accruals, utilities, cash receipts, and more)
  • Perform month-end close and income statement analysis against budget and prior periods
  • Collaborate with property-level operations teams to review and explain performance
  • Produce and distribute financial reports for internal leadership, equity partners, and lenders
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts including cash, prepaids, and accruals
  • Code and approve vendor invoices related to your portfolio
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor portfolio health
  • Support annual budgeting and mid-year forecasting alongside Operations
  • Serve as a point of contact for tax preparers and external auditors
  • Contribute to special projects and process improvements as the platform scales
