Anchor Glass in an Equal Opportunity Employer The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end project planning, financial oversight, and execution of large-scale, high-impact, multi-million-dollar(>$40m) capital projects across Anchor Glass. This role oversees the company’s most complex projects, including furnace rebuilds, IS machine installations, and equipment upgrades (Inspection, Conveying and Packaging), as well as facility infrastructure improvements. The Senior Project Manager applies project management methodologies and technical expertise to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery of all projects. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, this role serves as the primary interface between engineering, operations, supply chain, and external contractors, resolving technical challenges and driving innovative solutions. The Senior Project Manager will help establish a PMO office, implement governance processes, enforce executional discipline, and proactively manage risk, vendor performance, and stakeholder alignment throughout the full project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and Maintain Project Management Office - Governance and Controls: Establish a Project Management Office (PMO) and oversee the tools, processes, KPIs, budgets, and governance structures needed to manage project schedules, milestones, and reporting across all phases—from planning through completion. Ensure consistent application of engineering standards and maintain rigorous control over technical documentation.
  • Lead Technical Project Execution: Direct and manage all aspects of technical project execution, including scope definition, resource allocation, and detailed engineering design reviews. Troubleshoot and resolve all project issues, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Vendor and Contractor Management: Evaluate, select, and manage technical vendors and contractors, ensuring alignment with project specifications and company standards. Review and approve technical submittals and manage change orders as required.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify and assess technical risks throughout the project lifecycle, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure project success and compliance with engineering standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication and Reporting: Serve as the point of contact for all project stakeholders, providing regular updates, detailed reports, and presentations on project status, issues, and outcomes.
