About The Position

River Run is a shared services organization that supports banking affiliates, Newburyport Bank, Pentucket Bank and Rollstone Bank & Trust. The Senior Project Manager leads the planning, coordination, and oversight of the company’s technology and business initiatives, ensuring programs remain on schedule, within scope, and aligned with strategic priorities. This role applies program governance frameworks, manages resources and risks, and partners closely with senior leadership to drive successful execution of enterprise transformation efforts. This position is primarily on-site; however, hybrid work arrangements may be considered based on business needs and alignment with role responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in project or program management preferred, ideally within banking or financial services. Experience supporting cross-functional projects and contributing to process or organizational improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of program management methodologies, tools, and frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, PMO standards). Familiarity with enterprise technology environments, regulatory compliance, and risk management practices.
  • Strategic thinker with exceptional organizational and communication skills. Ability to influence senior stakeholders, manage cross-functional teams, and deliver results under pressure. Demonstrated ability to lead change and foster collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Experience with project portfolio management tools (e.g., MS Project, Monday.com, Jira, Smartsheet). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP or similar certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement program management frameworks, standards, and best practices to ensure consistent delivery across all initiatives.
  • Lead the planning and execution of enterprise programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and organizational priorities.
  • Oversee program governance, including steering committees, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Provide executive leadership with comprehensive reporting on portfolio-level risks, issues, and emerging concerns to support informed decision-making.
  • Manage program budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Identify and mitigate program risks; ensure contingency plans and escalation processes are in place.
  • Drive adoption of project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, hybrid approaches) to improve delivery performance.
  • Collaborate with technology and business leaders to prioritize initiatives and manage interdependencies across programs.
  • Establish KPIs and metrics for program success; provide regular reporting to executive leadership and the Board.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the program management team.
  • Responsible for overseeing administrative functions such as scheduling, documentation, reporting, invoicing, financials and coordination to ensure smooth project operations.
  • Monitor deliverables for accuracy, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements for program governance and documentation.
  • Support change management and communication strategies to drive stakeholder engagement and adoption of new processes and technologies.
