Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead multi-discipline engineering and architecture projects for federal clients in the medical sector. This role involves managing design-build and design-bid-build projects from initial planning and design through construction, with a focus on vertical structures and healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will provide strategic leadership, ensure technical excellence, and drive project success across a diverse portfolio of federal engineering and architectural initiatives. Role on the Team Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for direct supervision of technical staff, ensuring compliance with quality standards, managing client relationships, overseeing project financials, and fostering collaboration across business lines and remote teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of general experience in engineering design, architectural design, construction management, or engineering project management.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience on federal government A/E projects with agencies such as DHA, USACE, NAVFAC, GSA, VA, USDA, DHS, or DOI.
  • 3+ years of experience with federal medical clients, such as DHA, USACE Huntsville MST, USACE Little Rock MST, USACE Mobile MST, VA, or others.
  • Proven ability to manage up to four (4) multi-million-dollar projects simultaneously.
  • 5+ years leading technical teams on projects over $20M in construction value.
  • Design experience using UFCs, WBDG, USACE Huntsville Design Guide, or others.
  • Experience working under federal contracting regulations, including FAR, UFC, WBDG, and CQM.
  • Expertise in design-build and alternative delivery methods.
  • Proficiency in RFI responses, contract compliance, and construction oversight.
  • Experience with industry-standard software (Revit, CAD, Bluebeam, ProjectTeam, ProCon, SharePoint, MS Project, Deltek, CostPoint, GovWin, Dropbox, etc.)
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor in-house and subconsultant technical engineers, designers, and PMs.
  • Foster collaboration, communication, and coordination across multiple business lines.
  • Manage relationships with clients, remote team members, and subconsultants.
  • Identify and address project challenges while implementing effective solutions.
  • Maintain high team morale and support company-wide objectives.
  • Monitor and optimize staff utilization.
  • Develop project budgets and schedules.
  • Manage technical staff and subconsultants to meet budget and schedule goals.
  • Oversee project execution from planning to completion
  • Ensure client satisfaction, quality, and financial success.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships with clients, subconsultants, and end-users.
  • Develop and negotiate subcontract scopes of work and terms.
  • Ensure compliance with federal standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews.
  • Review and approve project status reports, financials, and documentation.
  • Ensure accuracy in monthly financial closeout data, including revenue accruals, invoicing, and accounts payable.
  • Collaborate with company executives to develop proposals and negotiate contracts.
  • Participate in capture planning initiatives and contribute to marketing efforts.
  • Represent the company at conferences and industry events.
