About The Position

The Lead Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of multiple large, complex IT initiatives, including system implementations, enhancements, and business process reengineering efforts. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with business and technical requirements while driving collaboration across stakeholders and technical teams.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience managing complex technical initiatives with large, cross-functional IT project teams
  • 5+ years holding an active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, preferably through the Project Management Institute
  • Demonstrated high degree of both business acumen and technical knowledge

  • Experience implementing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions
  • Familiarity with large public sector health and human services organizations and related systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full project lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, and implementation of enterprise IT solutions
  • Direct and oversee large-scale system implementations and enhancements, including training management system replacement and ongoing application support initiatives
  • Develop, maintain, and obtain approval for comprehensive Project Management Plans, schedules, and deliverables
  • Define project scope, tasks, milestones, timelines, resource allocation, and budget requirements
  • Monitor and track project progress, milestones, and budgets, taking corrective actions as needed to ensure successful delivery
  • Coordinate and prioritize multiple workstreams while aligning team efforts with project goals and strategic objectives
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to define requirements, resolve issues, and ensure alignment on solutions
  • Develop and manage project estimates across all phases, adjusting as necessary and securing stakeholder approval
  • Ensure adherence to project management methodologies, standards, and governance processes
  • Create and manage communication plans, deliverables matrices, and stakeholder reporting structures
  • Prepare and deliver regular status reports, metrics, and executive-level updates
  • Facilitate cross-functional discussions between internal teams and external vendors to ensure requirements are met
  • Identify, track, and manage project risks and issues using RAID logs, including developing and executing mitigation strategies
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications, escalations, and issue resolution
  • Coordinate system testing efforts and ensure quality assurance processes are followed
  • Conduct project reviews, status meetings, and stakeholder presentations as required
  • Mentor and support junior project management staff to strengthen team capabilities
  • Ensure all scope changes follow established change management processes and are properly documented
  • Plan and coordinate training sessions and user onboarding activities
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and ensure alignment with project objectives and service commitments
  • Ensure all deliverables meet established quality standards and provide measurable business value
