This role owns day-to-day delivery for assigned programs by building integrated plans, managing risks and dependencies, and driving predictable milestone achievement. The Senior Project Manager partners closely with IT leadership, business sponsors, and vendors, contributes to continuous improvement of PMO practices, and is accountable for consistent, high-quality execution across initiatives. Success in this role means: On-time milestone achievement Clear ownership across teams High-quality, stable releases Accurate and transparent executive reporting Typical Initiatives You May Lead To calibrate scope, this role typically leads initiatives such as: Enterprise application or systems integration initiatives Data platform or analytics modernization efforts Infrastructure modernization programs Vendor-delivered SaaS platform implementations Typical Project Scale 10–30+ cross-functional contributors Multi-quarter timelines (6–18 months) External vendors and system integrators involved Executive-level visibility What You’ll Do Integrated Planning & Schedule Management Develop and maintain a detailed, end-to-end integrated project plan Ensure workstreams are clearly sequenced, estimated, and owned Monitor and manage the critical path to protect key milestones Re-baseline plans as needed while maintaining timeline discipline Align business, IT, and vendor plans into a single integrated delivery view Driving Execution & Completion Facilitate clear commitment alignment across teams Monitor milestone health and identify early indicators of slippage Surface trade-offs and decisions required to protect timelines Coordinate cross-team dependencies to prevent bottlenecks Support structured cutovers, testing cycles, and go-live events Risk, Dependency & Issue Management Maintain a live RAID log with clear mitigation owners and target dates Proactively identify cross-team and vendor dependencies Escalate risks thoughtfully and with proposed resolution paths Prevent last-minute surprises through disciplined follow-up Executive and Stakeholder Communication Provide concise, data-driven status reporting Clearly articulate risks, trade-offs, and timeline impacts Facilitate steering committee meetings Build strong working relationships across business and technology teams Agile and Delivery Discipline Lead Agile delivery practices across one or more teams Facilitate sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog prioritization Track velocity, burn rates, and milestone readiness Drive estimation discipline and forecasting accuracy Operate within PMO governance and reporting standards

Requirements

  • 7+ years managing large, cross-functional IT or digital initiatives
  • Proven delivery of multi-quarter, cross-functional programs
  • Experience leading Agile delivery across multiple teams
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid models
  • Hands-on experience building and managing integrated project plans
  • Experience managing vendor and third-party delivery partners
  • Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and enterprise collaboration tools
  • Organized with strong attention to detail
  • Structured, disciplined approach to planning and execution
  • Clear and confident communicator
  • Strong ownership mindset
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity while maintaining plan integrity
  • Collaborative and solutions-oriented

Nice To Haves

  • PMP strongly preferred
  • CSM, PMI-ACP, or equivalent Agile certification
  • Experience in enterprise IT, systems integration, platform delivery
  • Experience contributing to PMO standards or delivery governance frameworks
