About The Position

The Senior Project Engineer (SPE) supports the Project Manager and cross‑functional project team in delivering complex construction projects in Life Science, Food & Beverage, & Mission Critical. The SPE ensures technical execution aligns with project objectives, owner requirements, and construction documents, while driving quality, safety, schedule adherence, and documentation accuracy. This role requires deep proficiency in submittal/RFI management, field engineering, vendor coordination, commissioning readiness, and QA/QC. The Senior Project Engineer acts as a technical and process resource on fast‑paced projects and provides mentorship to Project Engineer I/II team members..

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 6-10 years of project engineering or construction experience, preferably with large, complex, or advanced-technology facilities, including but not limited to, Life Science, Food & Beverage, and/or Mission Critical / Data Center projects
  • QA/QC experience is required, including documentation workflows, installation verification, and turnover packages.
  • Expert capability with Microsoft Office, VDC tools, mobile field apps, and construction management platforms.
  • Expert-level RFI and submittal processing knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience supporting design‑build delivery.
  • Familiarity with commissioning, startup, and turnover processes for mission critical systems.
  • Ability to work on fast‑paced, highly technical programs with complex stakeholder environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager in delivering mission‑critical/data center construction activities in alignment with project goals, technical requirements, and schedule.
  • Lead coordination between engineering, construction, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve field issues quickly and accurately.
  • Review construction documents and identify discrepancies, constructability concerns, and potential RFIs.
  • Implement and maintain QA/QC workflows, including submittal review, inspection documentation, as‑built verification, and quality sign‑offs.
  • Ensure all installations meet engineering requirements, owner criteria, and mission‑critical reliability standards.
  • Support commissioning activity preparation, including equipment verification, system walkthroughs, and punch list closure.
  • Oversee engineering and documentation activities for electrical, mechanical, plumbing, utilities, and controls systems common to life science, food & beverage, and data center environments.
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors on lead times, FATs, equipment delivery, and installation requirements.
  • Support integrated systems testing readiness (IST), commissioning workflows, and turnover documentation.
  • Lead the submittal and RFI process, ensuring accurate logs, timely responses, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Maintain complete document control including drawing sets, specifications, as‑builts, and turnover packages.
  • Execute equipment receiving procedures, tracking deliveries, inspection, and field placement.
  • Support cost management activities including change events, tracking logs, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Support and enforce site safety programs, participate in safety walks, and reinforce compliance with company and client regulations.
