About The Position

The Center for Justice Innovation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing community safety and racial justice since 1996. With over 900 staff and an annual budget of $130 million, the Center operates programs, conducts research, and provides expert assistance. Community Justice Solutions (CJS) is a new national venture of the Center, organized around six impact areas: Community Safety, Front-End Systems Change, People-Centered Courts, Restorative Practices, Intimate Partner Safety and Justice, and the Housing-Justice Nexus. CJS is seeking a Senior Program Manager on a temporary basis to primarily work on projects under the Office of Violence Against Women’s Training and Technical Assistance Initiative, as well as support other projects as needed. Reporting to the Principal of CJS overseeing this area of work, the Senior Program Manager will collaborate with teammates to provide targeted training and technical assistance (TTA) on projects relating to the intimate partner safety and justice portfolio. The role involves developing and writing new publications, supporting grantees and sites on domestic violence risk assessments, developing asynchronous and synchronous training content, delivering onsite and remote TTA to grantees across the country, and nurturing partner relationships. The Senior Program Manager may also provide support to other projects within CJS’ portfolio as needed.

Requirements

  • relevant graduate degree with 4-5 years of experience, or a JD with 2-3 years of experience, or equivalent lived experience related to substance use disorder, the criminal legal system, or direct services provision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • ability to work with a diverse array of partners, including community members, business owners, police, probation officers, judges, attorneys, court administrators, elected officials, social service providers, school officials, and community-based organizations

Nice To Haves

  • Substantive experience with training and technical assistance on intimate partner violence and community violence, with the ability to apply this expertise to work with jurisdictions seeking to enhance community safety and racial justice is preferred
  • Candidates who have prior contact with the criminal or civil system are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of training modules, slide decks, and other training materials
  • Facilitate TTA through the DV RISC website portal
  • Facilitate peer-to-peer communication and collaboration
  • Lead in the development and implementation of domestic violence specific products
  • Provide expert assistance, both remote and onsite, to courts and legal system partners seeking to plan, implement, or enhance training efforts to courts and related stakeholders
  • Manage planning and development of local, regional, and large-scale, multi-day national training events
  • Manage strong, collaborative relationships with funders, other TTA providers, national experts, and other important partners in the field
  • Lead development of practitioner monographs, toolkits, guidance documents, website features, and other written as well as online content geared for grantees
  • Lead development and delivery of presentations at conferences and training events
  • Support other Senior Program Managers, Associate Directors, and Directors on a wide range of remote and onsite TA projects
  • Additional TTA duties and relevant tasks as needed
