Who are we looking for? The US West Environment Market is a critical component of GHD’s overall growth strategy in Americas. The US West Region is looking to bring onboard a motivated Senior Program Manager to lead expansion of GHD’s Contamination, Assessment and Remediation practice in the West. The Contamination Assessment & Remediation business focuses on the identification and investigation of contaminants and their impacts on soil, groundwater, surface water, vapor and gas. We also select, design and implement effective and sustainable remedial solutions for contaminated sites. We offer expertise with known and emerging contaminants such as hydrocarbons, solvents, PFAS, nutrients, metals, dioxins and furans, acidity and explosives. Our clients are a mix of public and private organizations in the Petroleum, Oil, Gas, Government (Federal, State, Municipal), Chemical and Manufacturing, Mining, Energy, Transport, Emergency Services, Agriculture, Developers and Legal sectors. As Senior Program Manager you will provide technical and delivery leadership of the CAR projects for our clients throughout the West. This position will work from any of our offices in CA . Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology or equivalent field.
  • Minimum 20 years experience in the field

  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • PG preferred

Responsibilities

  • Insights and Reporting: Contribute to the design and creation of reporting strategies and templates. Lead execution of complex reports, identifying and interpreting complex patterns and trends, and translating those insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Solutions Analysis: Identify and evaluate complex, expertise-led solutions against a range of criteria to find the ones that best meet business needs.
  • Geoscientific Studies and Interpretations: Create proposals for the selection of exploration-well locations by overseeing all aspects of geological/geophysical modeling and leading the data interpretation process.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Monitor and review performance against health, safety, and environment (HSE) key performance indicators (KPIs) and patterns of behavior within the area of responsibility. Take action to improve performance and to resolve noncompliance with the organization's HSE policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions.
  • Personal Capability Building: Act as subject matter expert in an area of technology, policy, regulation, or operational management for the team. Maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging external regulation and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Client & Customer Management (External): Manage important client relationships with guidance from senior colleagues, or oversee relationship management with a group of more transactional clients and customers.
  • Community of Practice Management: Participate in and contribute to a community of practice in a defined area of expertise or consulting to build own capability and develop innovative practice among colleagues.
  • Organizational Capability Building: Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs. Plan and implement actions, including continuing professional development specified by professional or regulatory institutions, to build their professional capabilities. Provide informal training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.
  • Project Management: Manage a portfolio of projects while reporting to senior colleagues.
  • Request for Bid Solicitation/Proposal/Tender Response: Gather information and resources, draft and complete proposals, and fulfill all process requirements (in terms of deadlines, documentation, etc.) in response to complex bid solicitations, request for proposal, and request for tender to create the best chance of being awarded the contract.
  • Exploration Plan Development: Guide wide-ranging exploration planning activities across multiple highly complex projects.
  • Client Issue Diagnosis: Collate and conduct analysis of the tactical and operational information gathered through interviews and research to support the diagnosis of underlying client issues and problems and the design of single solutions.
