About The Position

Huitt-Zollars, Inc has full-time opportunity for a Senior Program Manager for our Fort Worth office with at least 10 years of Project Management experience with Federal clients. Must have Project Management experience in Federal, Institutional, or Public Works clients. The ideal candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer or a Registered Architect. In addition to project management duties, this Senior Program Manager will have business development duties to include assisting SF330 preparation and involvement in professional organizations This position is also required to adhere to Huitt-Zollars’ Core Value and Leadership Competencies. Requirements

  • BS or MS Degree in Engineering or Architecture
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience
  • Experience with Department of Defense criteria/systems to include Unified Facilities Criteria, SpecsIntact, ProjNet, Dr. Checks
  • Ability to work independently in a team environment and to manage multiple projects with limited supervision under the direction of a principal/officer of the company
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, communicating technical information clearly and concisely
  • Solid leadership and management skills, self-motivated, and possess a strong ability to meet deadlines, satisfy clients, and solve complex problems
  • Skilled in Business Development
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent Presentation skills
  • Facilitation skills to include client/design/build partner charrettes
  • Initiate and lead kickoff calls or high-level design calls with client in addition to preparing monthly forecasting and client cost estimates when appropriate
  • Troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions, effectively implement and document for internal and external stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Licensed Engineer or Architect in the state of Texas preferred
  • Certifications - PMP, PE, RA, Etc.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multi-discipline design teams providing design services to Federal clients
  • Work directly with clients and directing a project staff with varied levels of experience and expertise
  • Duties include initial project research, preparation of proposal/contract, preparation of project work plan and schedule, plan production and management of plan production staff, plan processing and management of plan processing efforts, construction administration and project close out efforts
  • Coordinate client management and marketing efforts for future work
  • Train staff and review work for quality assurance
  • Consistently deliver proactive communication with clients. When client issues arise, address or expeditiously escalate to discipline lead
  • Develop relationships with clients and teaming partners that allows for ease in communications and problem solving
  • Undertakes Program Manager responsibilities for major projects ($2.0+million annual billing)
  • Prepares and follows comprehensive Project Framework Instructions and proper work planning for a project
  • Ensures proper staff is assigned and utilized on their projects
  • Reviews project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget
  • Leads successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client)
  • Contributes to successful delivery and performance of projects
  • Cultivates relationships with clients and holds strong relationships with clients
  • Understands, follows, and enforces Huitt-Zollars' business process including weekly rhythm
  • Takes active steps in the pursuit of winning new business or additional opportunities with existing clients and is responsible for assigned portion of office sales goal
  • Assists and/or leads team in pursuit of new work (repeat work, SOQ and Proposals)
  • Develops and/or executes project Win strategy
  • Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives
  • Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations
  • Actively engages and participates in the training, coaching, and mentoring of junior staff
  • Understands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, maintains job knowledge current
