We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and mission‑driven Program Coordinator – Permanent Planning, Inc. (PPI) to oversee guardianship and advocacy services for individuals under protection. This role ensures person‑centered, legally compliant, and high‑quality supports while coordinating services, supervising staff, and maintaining strong relationships with individuals served, families, and community partners. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, human services, or a related field. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Three (3) years of experience coordinating or delivering services for individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, travel, or respond to emergencies.
  • General computer proficiency and willingness to learn new systems.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and ability to pass required background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Guardianship or advocacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee guardianship and advocacy services to ensure person‑centered, compliant, and high‑quality supports.
  • Advocate for protected persons’ needs related to healthcare, housing, education, employment, and community involvement.
  • Maintain regular contact with individuals served, their families, service providers, and case managers.
  • Coordinate intakes, transitions, and service planning; prepare recommendations and materials for the PPI Board of Directors.
  • Ensure completion of required court documentation, reporting, and compliance with Iowa guardianship laws and standards of practice.
  • Supervise and support assigned staff, fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Promote quality assurance, accurate documentation, and responsible resource management.
  • Represent PPI through community engagement, education, and partnership efforts.
  • Respond to emergent needs and provide support outside traditional business hours as required.
