The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) is the state of Florida’s social services agency. The agency oversees services for child safety, fostering, adoption, domestic violence, adult protective services, refugees, homelessness, mental health, substance abuse, childcare providers, human trafficking and public assistance. The agency’s mission is to work in partnership with local communities to protect the vulnerable, promote strong and economically self-sufficient families, and advance personal and family recovery and resiliency. Within DCF, The Office of Licensing is the regulatory authority responsible for the oversight of the licensure and regulation of all substance use disorder treatment providers in the state. The statewide system of care is dedicated to the prevention, treatment, and recovery of individuals with serious mental illness or substance use disorders. The Office of Licensing regulates licensed Substance use disorder Treatment Facilities, including Methadone Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) providers, as well as provides oversight for Designated Receiving Facilities. This is a highly independent position. This position will be a member of the statewide substance abuse and mental health (SAMH) licensing technical assistance advisory team, and will be responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating statewide SAMH licensing policies and procedures to ensure that regulatory standards are uniformly applied and followed in the regions that are assigned by the supervisor.
