The Role - Senior Product Operations Manager The Senior Product Operations Manager is a high-impact individual contributor responsible for scaling how product teams plan, execute, and learn. This role focuses on improving product delivery through better systems, processes, tooling, and cross-functional alignment. Genius Sports is a longstanding user of Atlassian tooling across the organisation. As our Technology teams (Product and Engineering) have evolved, so has the complexity of how we manage work and documentation. We are now focused on simplifying, standardising, and continuously improving our Ways of Working—enabled by the Atlassian suite. In this role, you will define the vision and roadmap for Atlassian tooling that supports how Product and Engineering teams plan, build, and deliver. You will act as the product owner for the Atlassian platform across Technology, balancing strategic direction with hands-on configuration, migration, and optimisation where needed. You will work closely with Product and Engineering to identify friction, design pragmatic solutions, and drive adoption across multiple teams or product areas. This is a strategic operator role with significant autonomy and influence.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years experience in Product Operations, Product Management, Program Management, or similar roles
  • Deep understanding of modern product development practices and how tooling enables effective practices
  • Experience operating across both strategy and execution—from roadmap definition to hands-on problem solving
  • Strong communication skills, able to align diverse stakeholders and translate complex topics for technical and non-technical audiences
  • A pragmatic, collaborative mindset focused on enabling teams rather than enforcing process
  • Experience operating in complex, evolving technology organisations (typically 8+ years, but depth and impact matter more than tenure)
  • Demonstrated experience operating as an Atlassian Administrator (Jira and Confluence Cloud)
  • Proven track record of defining Atlassian strategy and leading complex migrations or consolidations
  • Ability to treat internal tooling as a product: balancing user needs, governance, and long-term scalability

Nice To Haves

  • relevant Atlassian certifications strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design, own, and evolve core operating model and rhythms of the business (planning, prioritisation, reviews)
  • Ensure strategy translates clearly into execution across teams
  • Improve consistency and predictability without enforcing rigid process
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders to improve execution quality and decision-making across teams
  • Identify systemic friction across product development and delivery, focusing on root causes rather than symptoms
  • Lead initiatives to improve signal quality, feedback loops, and overall delivery effectiveness
  • Define and evolve standards, playbooks, and best practices that scale across teams while remaining lightweight and practical
  • Own and evolve product tooling and workflows across Technology, with Atlassian (Jira and Confluence) as the core execution and knowledge platform
  • Act as Product Owner for the Atlassian platform, accountable for strategy, roadmap, and measurable outcomes across Product and Engineering
  • Balance standardisation with flexibility, enabling teams to work effectively without unnecessary complexity or process overhead
  • Define and document Technology-specific workflow patterns, templates, and best practices that scale
  • Drive the migration, consolidation, and rationalisation of Jira and Confluence across the Technology organisation
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Technology on platform configuration, governance, and requirements specific to Product and Engineering workflows
  • Improve visibility into delivery health, risks, and progress for leadership through high-quality signals, reporting, and dashboards
  • Ensure tools support how teams actually work—not the other way around
  • Lead complex, multi-team change initiatives spanning process, tooling, and operating model evolution
  • Apply strong program management discipline to plan, sequence, and deliver change in environments with competing priorities and high ambiguity
  • Design and execute adoption strategies that drive meaningful behaviour change, not just compliance
  • Clearly articulate the why behind changes, connecting them to outcomes, strategy, and team pain points
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Leadership to manage risk, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations throughout change programmes
  • Establish feedback loops and success metrics to continuously assess impact, refine approaches, and sustain improvements over time
