FactSet seeks a strategic, technically adept Senior Product Manager to lead the evolution of Nexus, our unified data access layer that orchestrates query patterns, enforces entitlements and licensing, and optimizes performance to deliver fast, reliable, and compliant data experiences. Nexus powers analytics, transformations, and derived data by materializing content from diverse sources into our lakehouse while leveraging critical catalog metadata to enable downstream teams and applications to access consistent, high-quality data. You will bring deep understanding of how data is distributed, consumed, and transformed across our platform, partnering with architects, engineers, and data consumers to define and execute the Nexus roadmap that meets evolving performance and access requirements.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in product management, preferably in data platforms or API driven ecosystem
  • Proven ability to craft product strategy, decompose complex problems into actionable roadmaps, and deliver cross-functional results through influence and collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and to present to executive audiences.
  • Data-driven with strong analytical capabilities; comfortable defining and interpreting metrics, dashboards, and qualitative feedback to guide decisions.
  • Collaborative, customer-focused mindset with the ability to partner with security, privacy, governance, platform, and business teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of data distribution workflows and the various endpoints through which data is consumed, such as reports, formulas, feeds, APIs, screening tools (Screen On), FDS Table, and FDB.
  • Working knowledge of how data products are created, including both structured and unstructured data, and how they are distributed via existing data pipelines.
  • Basic understanding of data domains and reference domains, with awareness of their relationship to metadata and data governance practices.
  • Basic knowledge of compute logic and its role in data access, transformation, and derivation workloads.

Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Vision Craft, articulate, and champion the strategic vision for Nexus as FactSet’s unified data access layer, ensuring alignment with overall platform goals and business objectives. In collaboration with architects and engineering, define and communicate product objectives, key results (OKRs), milestones, risks, and critical dependencies for Nexus. Identify and promote opportunities for value creation through seamless, high-performance, and compliant data access.
  • Roadmap Ownership Define, own, and maintain the Nexus product roadmap, balancing technical innovation with evolving customer and business requirements. Establish and track short- and long-term goals, success metrics, OKRs, key deliverables, and timelines for the Nexus platform in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Gathering Develop strong relationships with data consumers across product and engineering teams to deeply understand their use cases, challenges, expectations, and desired outcomes with the data access platform. Facilitate ongoing feedback collection and requirements gathering to inform product direction, resolve pain points, and prioritize solutions. Serve as the voice of the customer in cross-functional conversations, ensuring Nexus delivers value to analytics, data transformation, and downstream application teams.
  • Technical Product Leadership Develop a deep understanding of data lifecycle, distribution patterns, transformations and entitlements in FactSet’s platform. Drive product and technical solutions that orchestrate efficient query patterns, materialize data from diverse sources, and enforce access controls for performance and compliance. Leverage catalog metadata to ensure Nexus consistently delivers high-quality data to downstream teams and applications.
  • Performance, Compliance, and Risk Optimization Partner with engineering to define and achieve performance targets (latency, throughput, reliability) for data retrieval and distribution. Ensure Nexus enforces all required entitlements, meeting data access, regulatory, legal, and contractual obligations. Proactively identify and manage risks (technical, compliance, delivery), and maintain awareness of dependencies across other workstreams affecting on-time delivery and system stability.
  • Enablement & Evangelism Educate and enable product and engineering teams to integrate with Nexus through development of guides, documentation, and best practices for consistent data access and transformation. Advocate for Nexus adoption across FactSet’s client facing products starting with AI Products and extending to legacy products, supporting unified standards and driving increased adoption.
  • Delivery & Continuous Improvement Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle: ideation, requirements, development, launch, and ongoing optimization. Continuously monitor key metrics, usage patterns, outcomes, and stakeholder feedback to identify improvements and drive innovation. Iterate on the Nexus platform to address scalability, performance, usability, and compliance as business needs evolve.
