Senior Product Manager

MicrosoftRedmond, WA

About The Position

Microsoft Teams powers collaboration for hundreds of millions of people every day. As AI becomes a more active participant in meetings, the challenge is no longer just what AI can do, but how it behaves in live, multi‑party collaboration: when to help, how to adapt, and how to deliver value without getting in the way. We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager to work on the Facilitator agent for meetings in Microsoft Teams. This role focuses on the core capabilities of Facilitator in meetings, shaping how the agent behaves across real scenarios and how success is defined, evaluated, and improved over time. You’ll work closely with engineering, design, and applied science to turn emerging AI capabilities into clear product decisions: defining scenarios, setting expectations for agent behavior, and grounding the work in real customer needs and usage. This is a hands‑on product role for a PM who enjoys ambiguity, systems thinking, and building AI experiences that must work reliably in the real world. Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. We bring a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals, grounded in respect, integrity, and accountability.

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework).
  • 4+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
  • 4+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).
  • Demonstrated ability to define, ship, and iterate on user‑facing products in complex or ambiguous environments.
  • Solid product judgment and execution skills, including prioritization, roadmap management, and delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Systems thinking: comfort reasoning about products that must work across many scenarios, users, and collaboration contexts.
  • Experience building or shipping AI‑powered products, such as LLM features, agents, or intelligent systems.
  • Familiarity with human‑AI interaction patterns, agent behavior design, or evaluation practices.
  • Experience improving product outcomes through experimentation and iteration.

Responsibilities

  • Own core Facilitator capabilities in meetings
  • Drive product direction for key Facilitator agent behaviors during meetings, aligned with Teams and AI platform strategy.
  • Own a well‑defined problem space end‑to-end: from customer needs and scenario definition through requirements, delivery, and iteration.
  • Make clear product calls about what the agent should do, when it should act, and where it should stay out of the way.
  • Identify and define core meeting scenarios (e.g., managing tasks, agenda tracking, managing and engaging audience) and how Facilitator should behave in each.
  • Establish clear success definitions, examples, and guardrails that translate abstract AI capabilities into concrete, buildable behavior.
  • Help shape how the agent adapts to meeting context, flow, and group dynamics over time.
  • Work closely with engineering, design, and applied science to align on goals, tradeoffs, and execution plans.
  • Bring clarity to ambiguous spaces by breaking complex problems into actionable product decisions.
  • Contribute to shared patterns and frameworks for building and evaluating agent experiences in Teams.
  • Own the end‑to-end lifecycle of features: discovery, definition, experimentation, launch, and iteration.
  • Balance speed and quality while delivering high‑craft, user‑facing AI experiences in live collaboration settings.
  • Use customer feedback and real‑world usage to continuously refine product direction.
  • Define metrics and qualitative signals to assess Facilitator effectiveness, consistency, and usefulness in meetings.
  • Partner with data and applied science to improve how agent behavior is evaluated, not just what is shipped.
  • Learn from successes and failures in production to inform future scenarios and improvements.
  • Communicate product decisions, rationale, and progress clearly to partner teams and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to demos, narratives, and reviews that explain Facilitator capabilities and tradeoffs.
