About The Position

The Sr. Product Manager is responsible to develop and manage product group strategies to create a leadership role for the company in their respective industry. This role monitors all aspects of a product lifecycle, including long- and short-term development and marketing, and stays abreast of trends in the marketplace to ensure the product's competitive position. The Senior Product Manager leads internal project teams, captures market insights to determine the product lines future direction, and represents ORBIS as the subject matter expert within the product segment of ownership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Business, Marketing, Finance or Engineering
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Direct report management experience.
  • Ability to communicate product information and make professional sales presentation.
  • Ability to present to customers, internal and external.
  • Ability to solve problems with cross functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to completion.
  • Ability to interact with and lead teams to support the overall company and product line initiatives
  • Ability to assess employee performance and coach and develop others.
  • Availability outside of normal business hours.
  • Ability to lead by example.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Business
  • Product Management experience from within heavy industrial manufacturing, metal fabrication, – automotive packaging products, food and beverage or packaging preferred; experience in other market segments, also considered.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes product line strategies in support of the Market segment strategy.
  • Champions new product solution growth projects to meet market/customer needs and manages new product line extensions.
  • Actively forecasts products on an on-going basis to develop capacity plans and manage inventory turns. Communicate deviations to sales forecast as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the creation of an overall marketing communications plan.
  • Monitor and understand competitor’s strategies and develop response to those strategies.
  • Develops and maintains a positive relationship with customers and internal to ORBIS.
  • Supports large opportunities on pricing issues. Develops market-pricing strategy (e.g., market share, capability, growth objective) and develops and monitors market share for assigned data.
  • Actively participates in external facing boards, coalitions, industry forums, and or speaking engagements.
  • Manage finished good inventory and specific customer program stock initiative.
  • Manage direct reports, including performance and development.
  • Builds strong internal collation of cross functional support to ensure product strategy execution.
  • Other duties as assigned.
