About The Position

The Senior Product Manager at CharacterStrong owns the successful development, delivery, and performance of specific product domains within CharacterStrong’s digital platform. Working under the strategic direction of the Senior Director of Product Management, this role leads discovery, product definition, delivery, and supports cross-functional GTM efforts for key initiatives within the established roadmap. The Senior Product Manager ensures that products deliver measurable value for educators and students while aligning with CharacterStrong’s mission and business objectives. This role partners closely with Engineering, UX/UI Design, Project Management, and other cross-functional partners to guide initiatives through the full product lifecycle: discovery, design, development, launch, and iteration. The Senior Product Manager also plays a key role in modernizing the development lifecycle through AI-assisted product practices, helping squads accelerate development, improve requirements clarity, and increase product insight through data and automation. Requirements

  • 6–8+ years of software product management experience, preferably within EdTech or SaaS platforms.
  • Experience owning product initiatives, end-to-end, in agile environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer insights and data into prioritized, successful product features.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, UX, and business teams.
  • Expertise in requirements gathering, backlog management, ticket triage, and roadmap alignment.
  • Experience leading multiple squads, balancing new initiatives with ongoing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools across key stages of the SDLC.
  • Ability to analyze user feedback and data, identify patterns, and translate insights into prioritized, impactful product improvements.
  • Strong empathy for K-12 users and demonstrated skill in active listening during interviews to uncover pain points and improvement opportunities.
  • Operates effectively in iterative environments, balancing long-term vision with evolving user and business needs.

  • Familiarity with K–12 technology ecosystems, including:
  • Student Information Systems (SIS)
  • Learning Management Systems (Canvas, Google Classroom)
  • Rostering systems (Clever, ClassLink)
  • Platform & Integration Experience
  • Experience working with API-driven platforms and technical integrations.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering teams on solution design and technical tradeoffs.
  • AI & Modern Product Development Experience leveraging AI-enabled development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, LLM-based documentation or analytics tools).
  • Understanding of how AI can support product discovery, experimentation, and product intelligence.
  • Product Analytics Experience with product analytics platforms (e.g. Pendo, Amplitude, etc.)
  • Familiarity with data pipelines including ETLs, data schemas, SQL, and data warehousing.
