About The Position

The Senior Product Manager - Spruce will play a critical role in shaping and advancing H&R Block’s mobile banking platform designed to help clients better manage their money and improve their financial well‑being. This role leads product strategy, roadmap development, cross‑functional execution, and ongoing optimization of features that drive customer engagement, financial empowerment, and business growth.
You will partner closely with engineering, design, data, marketing, compliance, and operations to deliver intuitive financial experiences while ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements. This role is ideal for a strategic, user‑obsessed product leader who thrives in fast-moving fintech environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience
• Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Effective presentation skills to all levels, from senior management to line/staff associates
• Experience with cost benefit analysis in preparing/reviewing business cases
• Familiarity with compliance (regulatory, Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), etc.) and governance issues
• 5 years minimum related work experience
• Product management experience to include experience leading large mission critical products that involve significant business and technology change
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize work in order to achieve critical deadlines
• Superior supervisory and matrix management skills; demonstrated ability to oversee tasks delegated to others

• PMP certification, or equivalent, or completed work towards PMP certification, or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and long‑term roadmap for Spruce
• Conduct market, competitive, and customer research to identify new opportunities and unmet needs
• Prioritize features based on customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility
• Lead end-to-end product lifecycle from concept to launch, iteration, and optimization
• Translate complex problems into detailed requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Partner with engineering and design to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions
• Ensure delivery milestones are met and the product meets performance, security, and compliance standards
• Collaborate with analytics teams to define KPIs, track performance, and guide data-driven decisions
• Work with marketing and customer support teams on go-to-market planning, feature adoption, and user education
• Ensure alignment with legal, risk, and compliance partners for all financial-product functionality
• Advocate for Spruce users by leveraging feedback, testing insights, and behavioral data
• Optimize product experiences to increase acquisition, retention, engagement, and customer satisfaction
• Monitor industry trends in digital banking, personal finance, and embedded financial tools to inform product direction
